Filkins, Oxfordshire
Historical Description
Filkins, a village and an ecclesiastical parish in the civil parish of Broadwell, Oxfordshire, 5 miles SSW of Burford, with a post and money order office under Lechlade (S.O.); telegraph office, Lechlade. Population, 470. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Oxford; net value, £175 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Oxford. The church is a modern Gothic building, erected in 1857. There are also Congregational and Primitive Methodist chapels.
