Crowell, Oxfordshire

Historical Description

Crowell, a parish in Oxfordshire, on Icknield Street, 1 mile SW from Chinnor station on the G.W.R., and 5¼ miles SSE of Thame. Post town, Tetsworth; money order office, Chinnor; telegraph office, Tetsworth. Acreage, 996; population, 102. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford; value, £189 with residence. The church was rebuilt in 1877-78.
