Cornwell, a village and a parish in Oxfordshire, 2½ miles W from Chipping-Norton station on the G.W.R. Post town, Chipping-Norton; money order and telegraph office, Chipping-Norton. Acreage, 849; population, 86. Cornwell House is a seat of the Penyston family. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church is ancient.
