Kirkby Folly, Nottinghamshire
Historical Description
Kirkby Folly, a hamlet in Kirkby-in-Ashfield parish, Notts, 1½ mile from Kirkby station on the M.R., and 4½ miles SW by S of Mansfield. Post town and money order office, Kirkby-in-Ashfield; telegraph office, railway station. There is a chapel of ease, also Baptist, Wesleyan, and Primitive Methodist chapels. The population has increased rapidly of late years, owing to the collieries in the neighbourhood.
