Sisland or Sizeland, Norfolk
Historical Description
Sisland or Sizeland, a village and a parish in Norfolk, on the river Chet, 1½ mile W from Loddon, and 5 miles S from Buckenham station on the Norwich and Lowestoft section of the G.E.R. Post town, Brooke, under Norwich; money order and telegraph office, Loddon. Acreage, 469; population, 69. There are two manors, one known as the manor of Charles, belonging to Lord Berners, and one known as the manor of Brooke, belonging to Viscount Canterbury. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich; gross value, £143 with residence. The church is an ancient building of stone with a thatched roof, consisting of chancel and nave, with a square tower of wood.
