Hassingham, a parish in Norfolk, adjacent to the river Yare, near Buckenham station on the G.E.R., and 8½ miles ESE from Norwich. Post town, Norwich; money order office, Lingwood; telegraph office, Brundall. Acreage, 580; population of the civil parish, 122; of the ecclesiastical, with Buckenham, 217. The manor belongs to the Beauchamp family. The living is a rectory, annexed to the rectory of Buckenham Ferry, in the diocese of Norwich; joint net yearly value, £205 with residence. The church, which is a small building of stone in mixed styles, has a circular western tower
