Wickhambreux, Kent
Historical Description
Wickhambreux, a parish, with a village, in Kent, 2½ miles NE of Bekesbourne station on the L.C. & D.R., and 4½ E by N of Canterbury. It has a post office under Dover; money order and telegraph office, Littlebourne. Acreage, 2067; population of the civil parish, 499; of the ecclesiastical, 521. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; gross value, £650 with residence. The church is a building of flint and stone in the Early English style, and has been restored. A Wesleyan chapel was erected in 1890.
