Westbere, Kent

Historical Description

Westbere, a parish in Kent, 1 mile ENE of Sturry station on the S.E.R., and 3½ miles NE by E of Canterbury. Post town, Canterbury; money order and telegraph office, Sturry. Acreage, 1173; population, 357. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; net value, £165 with residence. Patron, the Lord Chancellor. The church, a small building of flint, was restored in 1885. There is a Roman Catholic convent dedicated to Our Lady of Missions and St Anne.
