Historical Description
Cliffe, West, a parish in Kent, on the coast, 2½ miles NE by N of Dover station on the L.C. & D.R. and S.E.R. Post town, Dover; money order and telegraph office, St Margaret-at-Cliffe. Acreage, 1180; population of the civil parish, 144; of the ecclesiastical, 972. The living is a vicarage, annexed to St Margaret-at-Cliffe, in the diocese of Canterbury; joint net yearly value, £238. Patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church was restored in 1874.

The church of St. Peter is an ancient edifice of flint with traces of Norman work, and has a tower containing one bell: it was restored in 1875 at a cost of about £400, and affords 100 sittings.
