Historical Description

Swalecliff, a parish in Kent, on the coast, 2 miles E by N of Whitstable station on the L.C. & D.R. and S.E.R. It has a post office under Canterbury; money order and telegraph office, Whitstable. Acreage, 931; population of the civil parish, 207; of the ecclesiastical, 190. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; net value, £160 with residence. Patron, Earl Cowper. The church was rebuilt in 1876.
