Historical Description

Snargate, a parish in Kent, 1½ mile SE of Appledore station on the S.E.R., and 6 WNW of New Romney. Post town, Folkestone; money order and telegraph office, Appledore. Acreage, 1600; population of the civil parish, 108; of the ecclesiastical, 182. The living is a rectory, united with Snave, in the diocese of Canterbury; net value, £155. Patron, the Archbishop of Canterbury. The church is Early English and good; it was restored in 1872.
