Hildenborough, Kent
Historical Description
Hildenborough or Hilderborough, a hamlet in Tunbridge parish, and a chapelry partly also in Leigh parish, Kent, with a station on the S.E.R., 26 miles from London, and a post, money order, and telegraph office under Tun-bridge. Population of the ecclesiastical district, 1325. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Canterbury; gross value, , £250 with residence. The church was built in 1844, and consists of nave, aisles, and chancel, with tower and spire. There is a Baptist chapel. A large cricket-ball manufactory is in the district.
