Acrise, a parish in Kent, 5 miles NNW of Folkestone station on the S.E.R. Post town, Folkestone; money order and telegraph office, Elham. Population, 195. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Canterbury; net value, £240. Acrise Place, a fine brick mansion situated in an extensive park, is in the vicinity.

St. Martin (parish church)
The church of St. Martin is of rough flints, and has a tower and small turret containing one bell: the church contains a brass, many monuments of the Papillon family, and a stained east window erected by Miss S. L. Mackinnon in commemoration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her late Majesty Queen Victoria: the church affords 100 sittings.
