Cliddesden, Hampshire

Historical Description

Cliddesden, a parish in Hants, 1½ mile S of Baslngstoke station on the G.W.R. and L. & S.W.R. Post town, Basing-stoke; money order and telegraph office, Basingstoke. Acreage, 1919; population of the civil parish, 329; of the ecclesiastical, 432. The living is a rectory, united with the rectory of Farleigh, in the diocese of Winchester; joint net yearly value, £573. Patron, the Earl of Portsmouth. The church is old but good. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
