Historical Description

GATESIDE, a village, in the parish of Beith, district of Cunninghame, County of Ayr, 1¼ mile (N. E. by E.) from Beith; containing 270 inhabitants. It lies in the northern part of the parish, on the borders of Renfrewshire, and a little east of the road leading from Beith to Paisley.
