Brearton or Brierton, Durham
Historical Description
Brearton or Brierton, a township in Stranton parish, Durham, 3 miles W from West Hartlepool, and 2¼ from Seaton Carew station on the N.E.R. Area, 762 acres; population, 38. The manor was anciently held by the Grey-stocks, and after many changes is now the property of the Kirkleatham Free School and the trustees of the Lamb family.
