Fergushill, Ayrshire

Historical Description

FERGUSHILL, a village, in the parish of Kilwinning, district of Cunninghame, county of Ayr; containing 279 inhabitants. This village has sprung up within the last few years owing to the extension of coalmines in its vicinity, the population being principally engaged in the works; and it has already become one of the chief villages of the parish.
