Isle of Wight Poor Law Union
Aldershot was Incorporated under a Local Act, which allowed it more freedom in the relief of its poor. Its Incorporated status meant that is was not required to adopt the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act. The Incorporated status was disolved in 1865 when it was forced to adopt the terms of the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act.
The table below provides a list of the parishes and places contained within this Union. Where there is no To date it should be assumed that the parish or place was in this union until the Poor Law Unions were disolved in 1930.
