Headley Poor Law Union

Headley was Incorporated under Gilbert's Act of 1782, which allowed it more freedom in the relief of its poor. Gilbert Parishes and Unions were not required to adopt the 1834 Poor Law Amendment Act. In 1869 the Gilbert Incorporation was desolved and Headley Gilbert Union, with its constituent parishes, became a part of the Alton Poor Law Union.

The table below provides a list of the parishes and places contained within this Union. Where there is no To date it should be assumed that the parish or place was in this union until the Poor Law Unions were disolved in 1930.
