Historical Description

Winterbourne Herringstone, a parish in Dorsetshire, 1 mile S of Dorchester station on the G.W.R. and S.W.R. Post town, Dorchester. Acreage, 490; population, 51. The manor belonged to Siward the Saxon, and passed to the Herrings and the Williamses. There is no church.
