Craigton, Forfarshire

Historical Description

CRAIGTON, a village, in the parish of MONIKIE, county of FORFAR, ½ a mile (S. W.) from Monikie; containing 162 inhabitants. It lies on the road from Dundee to Brechin; and its population is chiefly employed in weaving linen-cloth for the manufacturers in the surrounding districts. There is a small school in the village.
