Historical Description

CORNCAIRN, a village, and a burgh of barony, in the parish of ORNIQUHILL, county of BANFF, 6 miles (S.) from Portsoy, containing 94 inhabitants. This place is situated in the neighbourhood of Cornhill, a village on the road from Huntly to Banff, where several annual fairs and cattle-markets are held, the latter well known as the "Cornhill markets".
