Clarencefield, Dumfriesshire

Historical Description

CLARENCEFIELD, a village, in the parish of RUTHWELL, county of DUMFRIES, 6½ miles (W. by N.) from Annan; containing 86 inhabitants. It is situated near the road between Dumfries and Cummertrees, and a short distance west of Ruthwell church. On each side of the village is a stream which discharges itself, at the distance of about a mile, into the Solway Firth.
