Historical Description
BRAEHEAD, a village, in the parish of CARNWATH, Upper ward of the county of LANARK, 3½ miles (N.) from Carnwath; containing 312 inhabitants. This village, which is pleasantly situated on the road to Wilsontown, is inhabited chiefly by persous engaged in agricultural pursuits, and partly by others employed in weaving at their own dwellings for the Glasgow and Paisley manufacturers. There is a place of worship for New Light Burghers.
