Sydling St Nicholas, a parish, comprising two tithings and forming a liberty, in Dorsetshire, 3 miles from Grimston station on the G.W.R. It has a post, money order, and telegraph office under Dorchester. Acreage, 5130; population, 563. Court House is the chief residence. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Salisbury; gross value, £130 with residence. Patron, Winchester College. The church is good; and there are Wesleyan and Congregational chapels.
