Chilfroome, Dorset

Historical Description

Chilfroome, a parish in Dorsetshire, on the Roman road to Bath and on the river Frome, 1 mile NW of Maiden-Newton. station on the G.W.R. Post town, Dorchester; money order office, Cattistock; telegraph office, Maiden-Newton. Acreage, 971; population, 88. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; value, £150. The church is small, and was restored in 1864.

The Holy Trinity (parish church)

The parish church of the Holy Trinity is very small building of flint and stone, consisting of chancel, nave, and north porch with bell-cot: it was rebuilt in the 18th century and restored in 1864, and has 90 sittings.
