Caundle Bishop or Bishops Caundle, a parish in Dorsetshire, 5 miles SE by E of Milborne Port railway station, and 5 SE of Sherborne. It includes Caundle Wake tithing and Bishopsdown hamlet, and has a post and money order office of the name of Bishops Caundle under Sherborne; telegraph office, Stalbridge. Acreage, 956; population of the civil parish, 272; of the ecclesiastical, 325. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Salisbury; gross value, £210. The church is old, and has a tower.
