Arne, Dorset
Historical Description
Arne, a parish in Dorset, on the W side of Poole harbour, 4 miles E of Wareham station on the L. & S.W.R. Post town, Wareham. Acreage, 2668, with 2209 of water and foreshore; population, 123. The living is a perpetual curacy, annexed to the rectory of Wareham, in the diocese of Salisbury.

The parish church of St Nicholas is a small but ancient edifice of sandstone, in the Early English style, and consists of chancel, nave, south porch and a western bell cote containing one bell: there are 60 sittings.
