Cernioge, Denbighshire

Historical Description

Cemioge, a locality in Denbighshire, 2 miles SE of Pentre Voelas, and 8¼ SE of Bettws-y-Coed. A famous inn stood here, on the road from London to Holyhead, and is now a farmhouse. The ground is high adjacent to the watershed between the Dee and the Conway; and a spot in the vicinity commands a very grand view of Snowdonia. The name still appears on the milestones on the Holyhead road.
