St. James the Greater is an ecclesiastical parish, formed in 1918 from the parish of St. Peter, Leicester.

Churches
The church, in the London road, was partly built in 1901, and was completed (with the exception of the campanile at the western front) in 1914: it is a building of brick and terra cotta, in the Basilican form, consisting of nave and side chapel, with two western towers: an organ was installed in 1923: there are 850 sittings.
