Ulleskelf, West Riding of Yorkshire
Historical Description
Ulleskelf, a township, with a village, in Kirkby Wharfe parish, W.R. Yorkshire, on the river Wharfe, 3½ miles SE by E of Tadcaster. It has a station with telegraph on the N.E.R., and a post office under York; money order and telegraph office, Bolton Percy. Acreage, 1323; population, 450. A chapel of ease was erected in 1887 as a Jubilee memorial, is in the Late Gothic style, and consists of chancel, nave, organ chamber, S porch, and bell-turret. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
