Historical Description
Smeaton, Little, a township in Womersley parish, W.R. Yorkshire, on the N bank of the river Went, 5 miles SE of Pontefract, and half a mile from Kirk Smeaton station on the Hull and Barnsley railway. Post town and money order office, Womersley; telegraph office, Darrington. Acreage, 1043; population, 201. Malting is carried on. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
