Killinghall, West Riding of Yorkshire
Historical Description
Killinghall, a village, a township, and an ecclesiastical parish in the W.R. Yorkshire. The village stands on the river Nidd, adjacent to the Nidd Valley railway, 1 mile S of Ripley Valley station on the N.E.R., and has a post office under Leeds; money order and telegraph office, Eipley. Acreage, 3518; population, 671. The manor belonged formerly to the Chomleys and the Lawsons, and belongs now to the Duke of Devonshire. The ecclesiastical parish was constituted in 1879. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Ripon; gross value, £325 with residence. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
