Historical Description
Green Hammerton, a village and a township in the parish of Whixley, W.R. Yorkshire, 1 mile from Cattal station on the N.E.R., with a post, money order, and telegraph office under York. Acreage, 1206; population, 281. There is a chapel of ease erected in 1876, and Congregational, Wesleyan, and Primitive Methodist chapels.
