Clifton, West Riding of Yorkshire
Historical Description
Clifton, a village and a parish in the W.R. Yorkshire, 4½ miles N of Huddersfield, near Kirklees, witli a post and telegraph office under Brighouse; money order office, Brig-house. Clifton was formed a new parochial district from Hartshead in 1887; population, 1590. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Wakefield; value, £120 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Wakefield.
