Clapham-with-Newby, a township and a parish in W.R. Yorkshire. The township lies about 6 miles NW of Settle, near Ingleborough Mountain, and has a station on the M.R. It has a post and money order office under Lancaster; telegraph office, Clapham (R S.) Acreage, 12,037; population, 712. It has fairs on 21 September and 2 October. The living is a vicarage with Keasden annexed, in the diocese of Ripon; net value, £297 with residence. Patron, the Bishop of Ripon. The church is a modern structure, with embattled tower. There is one school with an endowment of £21.
