Thornton-le-Beans, a village and a township in North Otterington parish, N.R. Yorkshire, 3 miles SE of Northallerton, and 2½ from Otterington station on the N.E.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Northallerton. Acreage, 1691; population, 203. There are a chapel of ease and a Wesleyan chapel.
