Thornbrough (West Tanfield), North Riding of Yorkshire
Historical Description
Thornbrough, a village in West Tanfield parish, N.R. Yorkshire, 4 miles ESE of Masham, and 1½ mile from Tanfield station on the N.E.R. Post town and telegraph office, West Tanfield; money order office, Masham. There are three circular entrenchments and numerous tumuli near it, and Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
