Stapleton, a township in Croft and Barton parishes, N.R. Yorkshire, on the river Tees, 2 miles SW of Darlington station on the N.E.R. It has a post office under Darlington; money order and telegraph office, Darlington. Acreage, 1002, of which 24 are water; population, 146.
