Newsham cum Breckenbrough, North Riding of Yorkshire
Newsham-cum-Breckenbrough, a village and a township in Kirby Wiske parish, in the N.R. Yorkshire. The village stands on the river Wiske, 2½ miles from Thirsk station on the N.E.R, Post town and money order and telegraph office, Kirby Wiske. Acreage of township, 1914; population, 188. Dean Hickes, the antiquary, and author of The " Thesaurus," was a native.
