Historical Description

Hallikeld, a hamlet and a wapentake in the N.R. Yorkshire. The hamlet is in Winton township, Sigston Rirby parish, and lies 4½ miles NE of Northallerton. The wapentake lies between the rivers Ure and Swale, is bounded by East Hang, East Gelling, Birdforth, Bnlmer, and Claro, and contains four parishes and parts of seven others.
