Historical Description

Fencotes, Great and Little, two hamlets in Kirby-Fleetham parish, in the N.R. Yorkshire, 3½ miles NE of Bedale. The living is annexed to the vicarage of Kirby-Fleetham, and in Great Fencote there are a church, a West leyan chapel, and a post office under Bedale; money order office, Bedale; telegraph office, Kirby-Fleetham.
