Clifton-upon-Ure, a township in Thornton Watlass parish, N.R. Yorkshire, 2 miles N of Masham, and 5 from Bedale station on the N.E.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Bedale. Area, 594 acres; population, 57. Clifton Castle, a handsome building situated in a. park, is the seat of the Pulleine family.
