Historical Description
Thicket or Thickhed, a place in Weldrake parish, E.R. Yorkshire, 8 miles SE of York. A Benedictine nunnery was founded here in the time of Richard I. by R. Fitz-Roger, and was given at the dissolution to the Askes.
