Staxton, a hamlet and a village in Willerby parish, E.R. Yorkshire, 6¼ miles SSW of Scarborough, and 2 from Ganton station on the N.E.R. Post town and money order office, Ganton; telegraph office, Sherburn. The manor belongs to Lord Londesborough. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
