Southburn, a village and a township in Kirkburn parish, E.R. Yorkshire, 3½ miles SW of Great Driffield, with a station on a section of the N.E.R. Post town, Kirkburn; money order office, North Dalton; telegraph office, Driffield. Acreage, 1103; population, 88. There is a Wesleyan chapel.
