Scagglethorpe, a hamlet and a township in Settrington parish, E.R. Yorkshire, 2 miles E by N of Malton station on the N.E.R. Post town and money order and telegraph office, Rillington. Acreage, 1206; population, 197. There are Wesleyan and Primitive Methodist chapels.
