Holme Beacon, East Riding of Yorkshire

Historical Description

Holme Beacon, a division of Harthill wapentake, E.R. Yorkshire, containing Holme-upon-Spalding Moor parish and several other parishes. It took the latter part of its name from a beacon which stood on Spalding Moor to guide travellers.
