Historical Description
Sleagill, a village and a township in Morland parish, Westmorland, 3½ miles NE of Shap station on the L. & N.W.R. Post town, Shap; money order and telegraph office, Morland. Acreage of township, 1384; population, 122. The Earl of Lonsdale is lord of the manor. There is a slightly endowed school.
