Farleton, Westmorland

Historical Description

Farleton, a township in Beetham parish, Westmorland, on the river Beetha, near the Lancaster Canal, 2¼ miles ESE of Milnthorpe. Acreage, 1204; population, 99. A limestone eminence here, called Farleton Knot, has an appearance similar to the Rock of Gibraltar.
